Learn with Bader

Learn is a glossary of plain definitions: what an API is, what HTTPS does, what an AI hallucination is. Every entry starts with a one-sentence definition, links its source, and says why it matters for a small business. It is the written home of the daily LearnWithBader facts.

  • 404 error

A 404 error means the server was reached but could not find the page that was asked for.

  • AI hallucination

An AI hallucination is an output from an AI model that sounds plausible but is factually wrong.

  • Alt text

Alt text is a written description of an image that screen readers read aloud to people who cannot see it, and that shows when the image cannot load.

  • API

An API is a set of features and rules inside a piece of software that lets other software interact with it, like a contract between the two.

  • HTTPS

HTTPS is an encrypted version of HTTP: it uses TLS to encrypt the communication between the visitor's browser and your server.

  • Large language model (LLM)

A large language model is a model that predicts tokens, the words or word pieces in a sequence.

  • Multi-factor authentication

Multi-factor authentication means using two or more different factors to prove who you are: something you know, something you have or something you are.

  • Responsive web design

Responsive web design uses flexible grids, fluid images and usually CSS media queries so one website adjusts itself to a phone, a tablet or a desktop screen.

  • robots.txt

A robots.txt file tells search engine crawlers which parts of your site they may visit.

  • Sitemap

A sitemap lists the pages of your site to give search engines information about them; it is a hint, not a guarantee that they will be indexed.

  • The 3-2-1 backup rule

The 3-2-1 backup rule says to keep three copies of your data, on two different kinds of storage, with one copy in a different place.

  • WhatsApp customer service window

The customer service window is the 24 hours that start when a customer messages your business on the WhatsApp Business Platform; while it is open you can reply with free-form messages, and after it closes you can only send pre-approved template messages.
